Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation Launches to Empower Youth Through Football
On February 8, 2024, the Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation officially launched at the Sibane Sami Hotel, marking a significant step forward in our mission to develop and empower young football talent in Eswatini. The event was attended by key figures in the sports community, including Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council CEO Darius Dlomo, Eswatini Schools Sports Association President Zakhele Myeni, and representatives from our esteemed sponsors.
A Vision for the Future
The foundation’s manager, Josiah “Digger” Dlamini, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to nurturing football skills among primary school children, specifically those under the age of nine. “Atibuye Emasisweni Foundation was established on February 1, 2023, with the sole purpose of developing sports at the grassroots level. We believe these young girls and boys are the future players of our country,” Dlamini stated.
Supporting Youth Development
Dlamini emphasized the broader impact of the foundation’s work, noting that it not only helps children enhance their football skills but also provides a brighter future for them and peace of mind for their parents. “This foundation helps young children to brighten their future with their talent. It also benefits their parents as they can relax and be sure their children will have a bright future. Their talent will also benefit the country as a whole,” he added.
Community and Support
The launch event was graced by soccer legends and dignitaries who showed their support for the initiative. Notable attendees included Khetsiwe Samuel, sponsor representative, and other dignitaries who contributed to the foundation’s vision. The foundation is currently coaching children in 11 primary schools across all regions of Eswatini, with the assistance of our sponsors.
